Neuroscientist, Pancreatic cancer survivor and Triathlete. I speak about how the brain gets motivated by stress and how stress motivates us.
Martin Inderbitzin studied biology at the ETH Zurich and did his PhD in Neuroscience at UPF Barcelona with a focus on emotions and stress.
In 2012 his dreams of a successful career were destroyed by a pancreatic cancer diagnosis. While in treatment he decided to sign up for a triathlon despite never have practiced this sport before. Based on this personal experience he founded MySurvivalStory.org, an initiative with the goal to document inspiring cancer survival stories around the globe and make them visible to other patients and their families.
Martin moves people with his personal story and uplifting attitude. Combining a neuroscientific view with his personal experience gives him a unique opportunity to talk about how the brain gets affected by stress and how we can cope with it.
